So, what happened today which pushed me to finally jump into action and start up this blog ? Nothing much really. Just another case of being pushed around on the road. Nothing much because I am used to it by now and have managed to train myself to just laugh it off. After all, if I let myself get worked up every time it happens, I will be in a grumpy mood every day of the year. Doesn't seem like a terribly intelligent way to lead one's life I think.....
Basically it is something which I am pretty sure most of you who have somehow stumbled on to this blog are very familiar with.
(As a side note about my tendency to address the reader in my posts; when I started this blog, I do not have any expectation of having many readers - if any at all ! I just wanted a way to vent my frustration, to keep myself sane. Fortunately for me, I find that I often do it by writing about it. So if you somehow found this blog and if you enjoy reading my random ranting, I am glad you like it. If you don't, I am afraid its too bad. Hope you find another different blog which you like.)
Anyway....
Stuck in a traffic crawl. Normal experience of Malaysian driving by now.
Easing slowly on the slow lane.
This guy in a dark brown (new model) Proton Saga with plate *** 9589, simply put on his turning indicator and squeezed into my lane, without bothering to look or concerned that I am in the way. He simply keep squeezing in, forcing me to give way. Then casually drives off.
Boldly displayed on front and back windscreen are the red 'P' provisional plates.
Sadly I find that incidents of drivers doing such rude and dangerous things are increasingly occuring with P drivers, or rather cars with the P plate. They are supposed to be extra careful since they are still on probation. Furthermore, they only have their license for less than a year so it is prudent to be extra careful and courteous. But no, they seem to think that the P plate gives them extra power to do as they please on the road. I actually met one P driver who told me he purposely does that because people told him they tend to be extra careful around P drivers as they are afraid the P drivers will do something stupid and cause an expensive accident to them. So this other guy takes advantage to push his way around on the road.
As if proving my point that P drivers should rightfully be extra careful, today's Great Malaysian Driver in the dark brown Saga had a massive dent to the rear boot and scratches on other parts of the car. Well, with driving manners like that, it is hardly surprising. It is evil and doesn't speak well of our character but somehow, I am sure many who have been victims, will like me, think that these kind of rude drivers are just asking for a bad accident to happen to them.
There are more such incidents, stories waiting to be told.....
